Favorite Pike/musky Lures/swimbaits

Featured Replies

Just seeing what everyone likes to use as their preferred method of hooking into Pike/Musky, whether that be swimbaits or spinnerbaits or anything in between. Thanks!

My biggest musky and most follows have come through using Mepps Musky Killers or Double Cowgirls.  Second to that would be a Suick or Bulldawg.

My preferred method/lure is large rubber baits (e.g., Bulldawgs, Medusas, etc.).  You seem to get a variety of strikes with that bait.  I have had fish hit the lure as soon as hit the water to light slack line bites to hard, jerk-the-rod out of your hand strikes to strikes right at the boat on a figure 8.  I do use bucktails, but my experience is that most fish follow that lure to the boat, which is exciting in itself, but the variety of strikes I seem to get on the large rubber baits adds to the excitement of the unknown to me.

Jerkbaits baby. Pointer 100 & 128. Also phantoms especially 6" size & 7.5" size. Jakes too.

Blue fox inline spinners with a french blade & double trebles.

Jigging bondy baits.

Gambler Big EZ are killer on pike with weighted owner beast hooks.

For Pike I prefer Spinnerbaits and Lipless Cranks.  Seems like the faster the better most times.
