Got My Hawgtech Anodized Parts Back!!! Aweeeesome

Featured Replies

Well besides making awesome handles, hawgtech has upped the ante with the custom anodizing. Much cheaper than buying new drag stars etc.

I sent them my newly acquired TD-Ito so they could match the purple part. They then anodized the original drag star and cast control knob to the purple. As you can see, it looks awesome.

Second, I had them anodized my chronarch d drag star and cast control gold to match the spool and line lip. Add a Hawtech swept handle with gold accents, end caps, hawgtech ceramic bearings and upgraded power 2 knobs and you have an amazing looking and feeling reel.

Do yourself a favor and try it out. Great guys who's customer service is top notch. Wait til I show you guys my soon to arrive purple additions to my newly acquired chronarch d.

Sweet! I had them do a few reels for me 2 or 3 months ago when they were just getting into the anodizing side of things. I have the same thoughts ... great guys, good products, and fair prices!

Looks good. What's the benefit of having this done?

Besides cosmetic?

The handle is 17mm longer that the original d series handle. This makes the turns even smoother. Furthermore, hawgtech handles take two bearings per knob as opposed to the one of the original handle. Again, even smoother. The larger knobs are more comfortable. Last, it is the same weight as the previous handle, but longer.

The anodized parts are cosmetic. I like to customize my reels and custom parts are very expensive. Having the them anodize existing parts adds a new twist to previously expensive customizations

Yeah I meant the anodized parts. Looks cool, don't think it's my cup of tea. The handles on the other hand I will be taking a closer look at.

Great looking reels!

Man I am going to upgrade my Chronarch to look like yours, NICE!  Wish we weren't so busy (working on getting orders out now) so I can skip in line and get some custom gold stuff too!

Glad your happy with the anodized parts, handles and bearing.  Have you cast with the Chronarch D yet, should launch your lure pretty far?

Those reels are amazing! I really like the shimano! I really don't care for gold... Like ever..

But it really looks so very good on that reel!

Seriously good!

I used the D last season for weightless plastics and it was great then. I can only imagine how good it will be with the ceramic bearings. I love the reel so much, I went and bought another one lol. That one is going to be fitted with a shallow spool and purple highlights. It's going to be amazing.

Love those handles, just wish they did not cost $80. a pop.

I didn't think something like this would appeal to me, but must admit, it looks really great!

They don't. The handle alone costs less

As noted above the handles alone are less than $80. If you have shimano septon knobs you can use those and you would not need to get the handle and cork knobs.

Their handles are very reasonable on the price side of things. Take a look at other popular CF handles on the market. Many of these are Japanese made and range from $100-$150+ for just the handle.

Both Abu and Lews make inexpensive CF handles but Hawgtech has a great handle in both swept and straight designs that will fit any reel. Plus they are on the longer side of handle legnths.
