Prespawn Advice For Pickwick

Featured Replies

I am only able to fish on the weekends because of work so any advice is helpful. I am anxious to get down to Pickwick for some pre-spawn action, which is really in full swing now. I would appreciate any advice for the TN, MS (lower end) of Pickwick for largies.

Was there yesterday and caught a good amount of fish throwing a Spro little john md. Didn't come across too many females but there were quote a few bucks roaming. Did catch two or three that would have went between 3 and 4 lbs.

The lake is on fire. It took 27 lbs (all smallmouth) to win last week.

This is what I have been told to fish: The Rig, jerkbaits, Red Eye

Shad and square bills. After the Classic in Guntersville I think you

have to add the DT6 to the mix.

27 pounds today to win the Alabama Bass Trail Tourney out of McFarland. I helped a guy (not in the tourney) put his smallmouth back in the water after he weighed them. One was almost 5 pounds, the other was almost 4. Really nice fish. He said he caught 10, but kept the big ones to weigh. He was using a crank bait in about 10 ft of water he said.
