What type of hooks do you all prefer for rage toads? Im assuming you all like the screw-locks, just wanting to know if there is anything better?

Generally I use a 4/0 EWG, but this year I am going to try out this Gambler Double Trouble Toad Hook

I have those frog hooks, I feel dumb. I forgot all about frog hooks, silly me.

I use a 5/0 EWG... Its simple and my hookup percentage was good.

5/0 Screwlock style heavy wire

Moaner 5/0 Stroker Hook.

4/0 EWG. never had a problem with these..

I can never get them to run right, they always tend to flip on their back when retrieving, and I have missed a lot of bass because of that.  Even using a 5/0 hooks for the added weight...

I couldn't agree more. I love the rage line but I think there are better options for frogs.

Probably talking about hollow body frogs...  I tried and tried to get the Rage tail to swim right and lost to many fish to want to try it again.  Or you could try a swim jig with a rage tail toad trailer...

I perfer the Horny Toad and Ribbit as well, but the Rage Toad has produced some really good fish for other people so it must be doing something right.  Over the few months that I fished with it, I found that the Owner 5/0 Twistlock worked well and some left over Mustad 4/0 Swimbait hooks with a plastic keeper (actually larger than my Owner 5/0) worked ok as well.  I did have some issues with the lure flipping over, but like others have said, it was usually because I rushed the lure attachment to the hook and got a little sloppy with it.  When I took my time and made sure it was balanced properly, the Toad ran straight for me and rarely topsided or rotated continuously.

It will. I think the RT toad runs fine...just like some others a bit more. 

I do use the space monkey on a keel weighted hook all the time though.  Perfect to replicate a frog and craw depending on how it is fished.  I actually think it is one of my favorite baits.

all three of these frogs have their place. rage toads are good when theres a bit of chop on the water as they are the noisiest. ribbits have a med churn action and horny toads are the most subtle.

Zooms horny toad screw lock hooks are the best imo. its hard to explain but its all about the shape of the hook point, it isn't lined up with the eye of the hook, improving hook ups. don't bother with those double hooks if you're fishing in lily pads or through thick grass/cover

i friggin hate screw locks...

try an Owner twist lock hook in 5/0 , but to make it better , purchase the bigger CPS springs Owner sells separately , get the "large" size (1/4") , i replace all of my twist locks with the larger CPS's and they work fantastic !!! i will always go with a single hook rather than a double hook . you will notice alot better hookup's
