Falcon Rods

Featured Replies

Does anyone have any experience using Falcon Rods for topwater and jerkbaits? Specifically those in the 6'6" length and M or MH action with a fast tip?

Not the 6'6'', but I use a Lowrider 6'10" MH for bigger jerkbaits. Not its intended use as the rod was made for jigs but I've found it to be a good rod for moving baits. Also a good rod for squarebills.

It's actulally 6'7' but the Falcon weightless worm rod is a great stickbait rod. I actually like it better than the jerkbait special.

I use a thier "Carolina Lizard Dragger 1" as my all around top water rod.

Its a heavy but has the right amount of flex for hook sets and enough backbone to a haul a fish out of anything

I have an older falcon cara 6'6 MH and it is by far my favorite I own. I like the skinnier profile of the butt on the falcons and the full cork, agree with mike on good tip flex for hook set and the backbone is tight with good feel. Not sure about their newer technique specifics. I do tend to go for my 7'0 duckett or bps for a little stiffer tip for top water, seems to feel a little better with braid and with top water esp. Frogs. I like the guides better on the falcon though. Love to know what you end up with!

I have their bucoo micro 6'10 heavy mod-fast and it's what they label as their 'pitchin stick' It's a med/hvy based on lure specs. Falcon rates their rods high. It's my topwater rod. It's super light and has the right flex for me. I also have a 7' m/mod bucoo micro and I throw 1.5 sizes cranks on it.

Have a 72 bucoo medium action. They are rated light. It's a good square bill rod I suppose,, but at the moment I'm not using it for anything.

I use the same rod for jerkbaits.
