Yamamoto Hard Baits

Featured Replies

Has anyone used any of the hard baits in Gary Yamamoto's new lineup? They look sweet and are priced well. If you've had any experience with them let me know what you thought about them, thanks

Got the Yamamoto popper I gotta try this year. Looks good, don't see why it wouldn't work. It has a smaller profile which I like.

come with Mustad Triple grip hooks too.

Snagged a medium diver  sexy shad last night, hope it produces for my in an event this weekend :)

They just look cool it was hard not to buy more.

I agree, the paint job on them are what makes me want to get some (that and I'm always looking for new tackle haha). Hope it does well for you, good luck!

I got the sexy shad square bill when they first came out before this winter. I got to use it a bit and it was pretty good for me! I got a few fish on it before i was iced in this winter. Overall it is a good bait IMO.

I have used the jerk bait, the 6 foot crank, the pencil and the popper.  So far they are just ok, except for the crank.  Popper works but does not gurgle like I like.  Pencil is not an easy one to walk, and therefor gets passed over.  The jerk bait will get tested more, but it has a tight action, not very erratic.  It will have it's time I am sure.  The crank is nice.  A big plus is no need for hook changes!

I bought a few of the cranks a year or so ago. They're in my regular rotation.

I got a couple as Christmas gifts. Based on looks alone, I am not impressed. They are probably not going to be in the regular rotation, and might even be trade/sale fodder.
