  1. Got the news a few days ago that I'm moving back to Indiana, around Indianapolis (looking at Noblesville). I never got into fishing til after I moved from Indiana, so I was wondering where some good places are and what normally works around there? Thanks in advance
  2. I think you are mixing up the BB1 with the BB1 Pro. The BB1 pro comes with two holes pre drilled into the spool to thread the braid into so it does not slip. Personally I would never put braid straight onto the spool, but the holes help make spooling much easier with all types of line.
  3. Unfortunately, I've had fishing on the the backburner since moving to belgium. (Not) Fishing here sucks. Although, fishing in europe in general can be very good, so I'm looking for areas to go since nothing in europe is too far away. Now I spend 6 days a week in the gym. When I come back to MN for a 3 week visit I'll be fishing every hour that I'm not in the gym lol.

Alright so I'll admit, I don't do much jig fishing except for a football jig here and there. But I've heard nothing but good things about it and want to try it this summer in MN. My thought for a setup was a 7'1" Medium Heavy with a Lew's BB1HZ and some sort of sunline (favorite braid). I'm planning on ordering some jigs from Siebert outdoors soon, and I was wondering which ones yall would recommend. And any tips on how to fish them, where, when, etc would be much appreciated. And my apologies if this has been asked before, I couldn't find much on it other than how great jigs are and what colors people preferred. Thanks
  5. x2 on this. Would love to have some perch soft plastics for mn.
  6. Went to Playa Del Carmen and went deep sea "fishing". I would have called it something else considering we had 6ft swells and the only person on the boat not getting sick was the captain. Oh and it was a 4 hour trip, no turning back, and we caught no fish by the end of it. The highlight was pulling into the marina after the 4 hours. I wouldn't hesitate to go back on a calm day, but in Playa Del Carmen there are rarely calm days on the water. Nothing against the charter though.
  7. If you can find some shallow flats, a suspending jerkbait should produce well. As for the rocky part, you can't go wrong fishing tubes.
  8. Thank you for your service and may God bless you.
  9. I thread a toothpick through the bait about 1/4 inch down from the top (then cut the ends of the toothpick not in the bait). Then I put the hook right under it so that the whole bait gets the action not only the legs. The toothpick helps this action, and keeps from tearing the bait also.
  10. How do you like the Cashion rods? I was thinking about getting one to try because I would much rather buy nice rods that are built in the U.S. than China (or even Japan)
  11. I finally decided on a set up to throw texas rigged soft plastics, Diawa Tatula 7'2" Medium Heavy with a Lew's Tournament Pro. I was thinking I should put 40lb braid and a 10lb fluorocarbon leader. What do you guys think? Thanks
  12. I was thinking about getting that one to pair up with a tournament pro for the same purpose (texas rigs), how does the taper do with hook setting?
  13. That's one sweet looking combo. Is that the 7'2" Heavy tatula?
  14. This has happened to a number of my Lew's reels. You can either email info@lews.com to let them know what happened and they will send you replacements, their customer service is great. Or you can buy reel grips, which is what I prefer to do because I like to use them anyway and they stop the peeling. Hope this helps
  15. I was looking at getting some of the Siebert Outdoors bullet weights in black and green pumpkin to use when I throw texas rigged soft plastics and was wondering what size to get? Thanks
  16. Has anyone used any of these? I was thinking about getting some for rigging soft plastics
  17. Hey guys I am looking for a rod to throw t-rigged soft plastics and what not. It will be paired with a Lew's Tournament Pro and 14lb Seaguar InvizX. My budget is around $150 for the rod. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  18. http://www.***.com/Lucky_Craft_Cranking_Series_Casting_Rods/descpage-LCCR.html Medium Fat Mini Magic would be the best for an all around rod. Good price, great reviews, and tackletour.com loves it.
  19. BB2 is the exact same reel as the BB1 except it is wider so it can hold more line. It has internal centrifugal brakes compared to the BB1 Pro which has externally adjustable brakes. The BB1 pro however, is also made to hold a ton of line and it has a "braid ready spool". In my opinion, since I own the BB1 (which is pretty much the same reel as the BB2) and the BB1 Pro, I would pay the extra few bucks to get the BB1 Pro.
  20. What size shakey heads are those?
  21. Done a lot of fishing in the Coon Rapids area and up north of Grand Rapids. In both areas the best techniques for me were frogging, jerkbaits, and the best was a texas rigged craw with a colorado spinning blade above the hook. Throw it right in the pads and jig just enough for it to get good vibration from the blade. The blades I use are Northland tackle blades. Can't find them many places except for small tackle shops so I stock up when I can find them!
  22. Saving up to replace all my reels with Lew's BB1 Pros right now. I would highly recommend trying one out. It is extremely smooth, casts a mile, and hold a lot of line. Plus it is only 6.5oz
