  1. I have the BB1HZ on my 7'0" MH Veritas for spinnerbaits and it can throw one about 55+ yards so I'm very happy with the BB1. I don't own a tourney pro so I can't speak for that reel, but either one would be great. Hope this helps
  2. I'm looking for a squarebill/jerkbait rod and I've asked a few time but have only gotten brands and I was just wondering what you guys would recommend length and taper? I was thinking about 7'0" moderate fast, medium power? Thanks
  3. Even with a weedgaurd it can still get caught in heavy enough vegetation but normally chatterbaits are fished in the same scenario as you would a spinnerbait so it is not intended for heavy grass/vegetation. Hope this helps
  4. Alright so I ordered my last 3 reels I needed for this year (which are coming next week hopefully) and I was wondering if I am leaving anything out or any other advice? And I only throw braid because in MN there's so many pikes if you use anything else they'll just break off your line. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks 1. Spinnerbaits and Chatterbaits Reel: Lew's Tournament MG 6.4:1 Rod: Abu Garcia Veritas 7'0" MH Line: 40lb Sufix Performance Braid 2. Crankbaits Reel: Lew's BB1 5.1:1 Rod: Lew's Tournament SL Crankbait Rod 7'0" MH Line: Sufix 832 Performance Braid Lo-Vis 6. Squarebills, Jerkbaits, and Lipless too possibly Reel: Lew's BB1 6.4:1 Rod: Not sure on the rod yet, some advice on what rod would be great Line: Depends on the rod I choose These are just my baitcaster setups so don't worry shakey heads, wacky rigs, and other soft plastics will be on my spinning setups
  5. Has anyone fished this rod? I was looking to get a new rod for squarebills and possibly throw some jerkbaits also and I was going to buy the Abu Garcia Vendetta 7'0" Medium but then I saw this 7'0" Medium with the same lure rating and everything so I was wondering which one you guys would recommend? Thanks
  6. Has anyone been to the Extremadura region of Spain or Portugal for bass fishing? I recently moved to europe from the states and am trying to find places to bass fish so if anyone has any experience in Spain, Portugal, or anywhere else let me know please. Thanks
  7. Hello, I recently completed a rough draft of what I though my fishing resume would look like. I am not looking for free products or discounts, that will come with time (hopefully), I am just looking to be part of the prostaff and be sponsored by some or any of the companies I use. Also, I do not have high expectations, even just an acknowledgement of the resume from some of my favorite companies would be great. Education for me is most important which is why that part of the resume is so long. Please let me know what you think and how I can improve it. Again I am not looking for free products or discounts I am merely trying to get my name out there and help some of the companies I fish, as I take lots of pride in the equipment I fish with. Also, I was wondering where to send this? I want to send it to the companies I use but I was wondering if I just send it to the general information email? For example under the "customer service" tab on tackle warehouse is has the email "info@***.com" just as an example. Do I send it there or somewhere else? Thank you in advance for any advice given. Fishing Resume Evan Guisinger Statement: I am a young fisherman chasing my dream, of becoming a professional fisherman and or working in the fishing industry after college. I believe in hard work and perseverance to achieve this goal, and I look forward to every minute I will spend on and off the water to become a better fisherman, and ultimately help the sport of fishing. About myself: I am an Indiana born, United States of America citizen, currently living abroad in Brussels Belgium I am 16 years old and currently am a sophomore at the International School of Brussels I have lived in Indiana, Paris, Minnesota, and now Brussels I have fished since I could first pick up a rod and reel whether is was at the local pond, up in northern Minnesota, or in Dubai just to name a few places I have fished Every chance I get to fish, wherever and whenever, I do Though I have not fished any official tournaments, I always strive to do the best and catch the largest fish and as many as I can no matter the lake or circumstances My personal best largemouth bass, my favorite fish to strive to catch, weighed in at just over 6 pounds which is a very large bass especially for northern minnesota (caught on “My Lake” near Marcell, MN) My strengths: I am an extremely hard worker and when I am attempting to achieve a goal or solve a problem I will persevere until I succeed I take great pride in the fishing equipment I buy and use I am very outspoken and enjoy discussing the fishing products I use whenever I fish with anyone I fish with My cultural knowledge has been expanded greatly throughout my experience in many different schools and areas around the world I know what I want to do in life and am doing everything in my power to accomplish my goal of becoming a professional fisherman and helping the fishing industry I am an excellent fisherman and think that I have the potential to become a great name in bass fishing What can I do for you? I believe that with my fishing experience and ability to fish around the world with professional guides and their clients I can broaden your company’s worldwide sales. I have fished in Dubai already since living abroad for almost 7 months and have trips planned to fish in Sweden, Italy, and the possibility of Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, and many other countries, as I have only planned my fishing excursions until August of this year. I also aim to try to get to South Africa, Spain and other countries to fish. Every place I go to fish I will be bringing my fishing equipment with me which includes the whole array of reels, rods, lures, terminal tackle, and everything in between. This is exactly how I can help your company spread its name and products around the world as I take a great deal of pride in all my equipment. I have spares of almost everything I bring and therefore, guides, clients, and so on can use your products which will inspire them to use your equipment and help your sales. By being part of your Pro Staff team, I am not looking solely on discounts, free products, etc, I am merely trying to get my name in the fishing industry and striving to help your company across the globe. Education: Education is the number one priority for me right now as a student at the International School of Brussels. I currently have a 3.7 unweighted GPA. I plan to do IB and AP courses throughout junior and senior year. I will be taking Higher Level Biology, Higher Level Physics, Higher Level Business and Management, Standard Level English, Standard Level Mathematics, Standard Level Environmental Systems, and French 3 next year. Then senior year I will continue onto the second year of my IB classes, with the exception of Standard Level Mathematics and Standard Level English, in which I will be switching to AP calculus and AP English. This rigorous courses will help me get into the college I would like to attend, Auburn University, University of Georgia, Clemson University, Murray State, or the University of Minnesota just to name a few on my list. I plan to study Fisheries and Wildlife biology at whichever college I choose. Not only is it critical that the colleges I am looking at have an exceptional Fisheries and Wildlife program, but that they also have a successful collegiate bass fishing team. A combination of my upcoming high school courses, future college fisheries and wildlife degree, and a successful collegiate bass fishing career will help me with my goal of becoming a professional bass fisherman.
  8. Does anyone use snaps or swivels for their set ups? I was looking at norman speed clips and the eagle claw snaps but if anyone uses these or others let me know how they are. Thanks
  9. Thanks guys. Just called to ask a few questions and I ended up purchasing 2 new bb1s (5.1 for cranks and 6.4 for squarebills) and a bb1 pro (7.1 topwater) a few minutes later!
  10. What and how many reels can you fit in there?
  11. I own a few Mg's and a few bb1s and some other and from what you say you are using it for I would save the extra few bucks and go for the tourney mg. This is because I would recommend magnetic brakes for heavier baits since the wear on the centrifugal brakes would be very high and the reel wouldn't last as long. Also the adjustment on the mg is on the outside of the reel as opposed to the inside. Most anglers prefer the casting adjustment to be on the outside, but I happen to like it on the inside. Both are great reels and will last you a long time though. Hope this helps!
  12. Has anyone bought from this ebay account? They have a ton of discounted reels for a really good price so I was curious if anyone has had any experience with them? Are the reels floor models? Just wondering.
  13. Possibly. For now all of the traveling I will do with my reels with be overseas, so I thought a reel case could be a good investment.
  14. Will do, thanks!
  15. Contacted the airline and they said that the fishing line on the reels is not allowed. Too expensive to replace fishing line just to come to and from a few countries!
  16. I was wondering if any of you guys use this reel case from Plano or something similar? I have to transport my bb1 pros, bb1s, and other reels overseas and I know the airlines just abuse luggage so I was curious to see if anyone uses something like this? It's fairly inexpensive ($20) which is why I'm a little skeptical of the quality. Thanks
  17. My apologies forget the topwater rod part. I was also thinking of what topwater rod to buy but I meant to just say a rod for flipping jigs and soft plastics.
  18. I'm looking for a topwater rod for flipping soft plastics and maybe some jigs. I'm in high school so I'd prefer a rod around the $100-$120 rage and no more. The reel I'm putting on it will most likely be a Lew's Tournament MG 7.1:1 Lefty with 65 pound braid. Thanks in advance!
  19. Recently moved from Minnesota to Brussels, Belgium but I used to fish every day that the snow was gone! Really sucks not being able to bass fish here but I'm comin back in June and July and plan to fish every day! Favorite place to fish is up in Marcell just north of Grand Rapids. There's some bucket mouths up there, can't wait to come back and fish.
  20. I'm looking for a rod to use for squarebills and lipless cankbaits. I have a few veritas and vendettas but I don't think they are the right rods, and I'm looking to a different brand rod. Any suggestions? Rod must be under 7'3" and under $150. Thanks!
  21. My problem is that I'm in high school and trying to work 24/7 (to buy fishing gear of course) and can find enough work for my continuously expanding list of fishing equipment I need for college
  22. Hey guys I am planning on flipping soft plastics on a Team Lew's HM85 7'3" XH F and a BB1 Pro 7.1:1 Left Hand model with a 1 1/2oz Eco Pro Tungsten Flipping weight and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on what hooks to use and on what soft plastics (preferably craws). Thanks!
  23. I own a Lew's BB1, BB1 Pro, and 4 Tournament Mgs. I am slowly working towards replacing all my reels with the BB1 Pro because personally I don't like the magnetic brakes because they are only in effect towards the end of the cast not the beginning when the brake system is most important. Keep in mind that with the BB1 Pro it has an externally adjustable centrifugal brake system and is made to throw light baits. I can throw a 1/4oz bait on my BB1 Pro and a 7'0" Abu Garcia Veritas Medium heavy more than 65 yards (67.5 to be exact) while I have to really control my casts with the magnetic brakes due to an often backlash on the Tourney MG. Hope this helps
  24. I have never fished that lake personally, but I've fished a number of lakes around there and I seem to always do well with throwing a Keitech Swing Impact FAT 4.8" bluegill flash on an Eagle Claw weighted swimbait hook. Normally it works well around points and especially with the clear water the action of the Keitech's tail is incredible and drives the fish crazy. Best of luck to you
