Line For Jerkbait Fishing.

Featured Replies

when It comes to jerkbaits I only throw fluoro. in my mind the flouro lets me get the bait deeper and would give it more action when I twitch the rod due to less stretch. well in a tournament this past sunday my partner and I were both throwing a Megabass vision 110 in a sexy shad color.. he caught three and had one miss. I never got a bait. the only difference he was throwing his on mono while I fished mine with fluorocarbon.

now my question is: do you guys think the line made a difference? if so why? or did he just have luck on his side on sunday.

Sounds like he had the luck and maybe a slightlt different retrieve speed. I use flouro on my crankin rod

Preaching the 110’s action, I found that Fluoro made the bill dive and mess up that beloved side to side rolling action. I prefer mono’s buoyancy and stretch when using Jerkbaits.

Mono for me. Seem to get more fish in hand.

Yo Zuri Hybrid 8lb. The fluoro sinking is messing with the action. Many many pros and local studs swear by mono for jerk baits.
