First Bass On A Baitcaster And Swimjig

Featured Replies

I caught my first bass today  since I started using baitcasters, this year. Was on a local pond today at 6am,fished till noon.Water temp was 60,and muddy.I tried near the shore and in the middle ,but nothing.Lillypads were up,so I threw a black/blu swimjig, with matching trailer.I told my buddy that I was hung up,and headed for the pad.About ten feet from the boat,I saw the bass's head shake.I didn't feel the bite, just thought I was hung up on the pad. After that nothing. But it was a beautiful morning, and that's what counts. BTW.My friend's scale's must be off.It didn't even read 2lbs.Looks bigger too me.

That's a good looking swim jig spot. You'll definitely catch more on a swim jig around there. Congrats on expanding your arsenal. Success breeds confidence. Nice goin'!
