What power and action rod should I use for a super spook (5" and 7/8oz.)?

    I have used a 6' med. with braid for years - find no need to change.

    Any 7' medium heavy glass or composite cranking rod.

    I use a BPS Carbonlite 7'MH fast and it walks one just right...

    There's a compromise to made with spooks. A mod action will help keep them hooked up, but I get a better walking action with a fast action rod with a soft tip. I build most of my top water rods on "popping" blanks like this.
