Antique Lures(Pics)

Featured Replies

Hey everybody,

I'd like to share my Antique lure collection with you fine gentlemen. It was passed on to me from my Father who was once an avid fisherman like us. For you viewing enjoyment I present the "Box"

Maybe some of you older folk might recognize some of these? Hope y'all enjoyed the picks.

Love it!  Thanks for sharing.  I have some items to post also.  Just need some pictures taken so may take a few days.

I laughed at the Budweiser lure

That's really cool. I love old lures, and you've got an amazing collection. Thanks for sharing!

You have got some nice old baits right there.

nice collection

Nice stuff!!!!  I bet you could take most of them out and catch fish on them too! My FIL caught two bass on a red and orange flatfish like you have there just this past weekend!

Nice collection!

Glad you guys enjoyed the pics. This collection has been in my family for a long long time. It's very rare to come across people who actually appreciate some of the history in that box!

I just got that same scale in a tackle box passed down to me by my great grandfather! I don't think any of the lures in the box he gave to me are special but I am sure he would love for me to catch something on them!  Nice pics!

Really nice collection.

That is too cool.

Thanks Jim, I wonder if the beer can fish would catch anything. I might tie it up just to see the action lol

Just throw it out there and tell the bass, "this Bud's for you".

Excuse me but Where are the "antique" lures ? That looks almost like my everyday t-box.

My Grandfather and Great Grandfather would probably say the same thing :)

I been collecting the steel bait casting rods and the telescopic steel fly rods besides the old lures. I have my own fishing museum even with my first fishing equipment too. Even the very first plastic hard body cranks catch my eye. Not too old but unique looking.

I wonder how safe are the steel rods in a lightening storm?

As safe as a Lightning Rod.

Graphite rods are also unsafe.
