Thinking about installing a lowrance sonic hub. Has anyone installed one of these on their boat?  Does anyone have recommendations for quality marine speakers ? I might just try and install a small head unit powerful enough to put an audio jack in. I dont need much else as I have a cigarette lighter to charge my phone. 

My boat came with a couple speakers installed underneath my console. Basically useless. Not loud enough when running. When fishing, the speaker position means I have to turn too loud to hear it and spooks fish. It would be decent I suppose for just bringing the boat out to lounge on the water. Moral of the story? The cheap route apparently yields cheap results. I just snagged a bluetooth speaker for my iphone and keep it up on the bow while I fish. Works awesome. Definitely great to listen to music while night fishing.

Ive got a removable deck portion on my boat I would mount them to. I guess I could borrow my dads new bluetooth speakers though.

You could always buy a pair of pair of headphone/ear buds. 

Marine speakers: /////ALPINE or JL Audio. I worked in car stereo in the '80s & '90s & for Alpine for almost 10 of those years. I know the engineer that designed them (American - Japanese designed speakers just don't cut it here or Europe). JL Audio just makes plain old good sounding durable speakers.

As far as marine head units go, Alpine stopped making marine head units three or four years ago but there might be one here or there. I think Clarion still makes one. Stay away from Boss & alike.

I have a Clarion marine head unit and Polk speakers in my boat. Never had cany issues with it and it sounds pretty good for what it is (jist 4 speakers and a radio). I'm not sure if the model I have is still in production. MP3 CD player/AM/FM radio.

This is what i did i bought a bose soundlink mini. I use spotfi on my phone for music. The mini runs on bluetooth i set it anywhere on the boat turn on spotfi and have music all day and dont use much batterie at all. The most cost effective way. No wiring just plug and paly.. This thing rocks and sound crystal clear you wont be dispointe . Go to target best buy or any hwere that has one demo it and you will be shocked a speaker that small would produce sound that good. And just a FYI i am not a bose guy by any means my home audio is klipsche and denon car audio is alpine and JL. In my speed boat i wanted bass and stuff so i went with all JL audio stuff alpine head unit.
