I'm feeling generous right now. What type of pole/pipe would you use to mount a basketball goal on? I'm thinking of cementing one at the end of my parking lot for the kids and teens to play on. This is of course I get apartment approval. I may do it regardless. Just dig and cement the thing at night.

That's the info I was looking for.

4" schedule 40 steel pipe. As Teal mentions , see if a plumber or a sprinkler fitter has this. You'll need to paint, it looks pretty bad once it starts to rust.

 

BTW, cement is just 1 ingredient used to make concrete, add some water and aggregate and you're in business!

Well played sir.

Use sakrete, or quickrete.  Get the type you don't need to mix. 

 

When your pipe is plumb, pour the contents of the bag into the hole around the pipe.  Then simply add the proper amount of water, and let it sit.  I've used it on mailbox posts, and the posts for building a handicap access ramp at my mother-in-law's home.
