Bill Dance recently had a show called : "It's A Short Sleeve Weather Lure Too " where by he was throwing a Smithwick Rogue suspending model in late Spring . Bill simply just fished it faster and shortened the pause and was successful to catch bass on it . It's all about what you have confidence in as well as the bass being reseptive . As the water warms I would have a 2nd rod with a Zoom Super Fluke on it .

I am usually a rouge guy but I Tuesday night I rode a Spro Mcstick 110 to a win over 26 boats. It was the first time I had ever thrown one. I am a believer that the clearer the water the more detail it has to have. I just with the MB Spro LC all weren't so friggin expensive. I LOVE jerkbaiting smalleys!

Have you tried the Rogue "Perfect 10"?

yes we caught smalleys yesterday on a P10 in golden shiner. Altho I think the P10 really shines when you are targeting big largemouth in extremely cold water. I do like the the P10 when tournament fishing one of our local lakes. It tends to catch only 12"+ keepers and you don't burn a lot of time on the 8-10" piranha's.

 

I would say it is a bait for quality fish over quanity mainly due to size.
