Looking For A New Spinning Rod For Senkos

Featured Replies

Hey guys I am wanting to pick up a new spinning rod so that I can keep a senko tied on all the time. I saw a Skeet Reese shakey head/senko rod tonight at Dicks Sporting Goods that I liked the feel of, but it has some pretty bas reviews online at different places so I was not really sure if that was the way to go or not. Id like to keep the rod around $100,  with $150 being the absolute most I want to spend, and that would need to be head and shoulders better than something around $100 if I were to drop that much. Thanks!

ive been using a bass pro shops tourney special. got it on sale, best $40 ive spent in a while. light, sensitive, and plenty of backbone. i do gotta say the placement of the hook keeper is lame, but other than that its been a good workhorse for me so far this year. been throwing tons of wacky on it, and some texas rigging senkos on it too. performs pretty well.

Thanks for the suggestion! What size and action did you get?

6'6-7'0 medium power fast action. Look for 1/8-3/8 lure weight.

Veritas Micro Guide 7' MH spinning.

i have a 6' medium fast. a lot of my fishing is split between boat and bank fishing so it fits into tight areas with ease beating the banks as well as good in a boat. its caught 40 river smallies, 39 largies, a perch, and a pickerel so for this year and it has held up to everything.

7' med. ***. That's one of the best spinning senko rods I've used.

X2 great rod you won't find much better for that price point. A lot of people think that Omens are the best $100 rods. If you are fortunate enough to have a place that carries them around you go in and look at the rod carefully some tend to have eye problems.

x2 i have this specifically for getting a weightless senko around tight areas and docks. so if you are target casting a 6' for a weightless senko really helps:)

Check out a Fenwick small mouth elite. Should be on sale most places right now too.
