Question For Dvt

Featured Replies

One of my reels was getting rough (not gonna say brand to start opinions, it is a magnesium reel ), after inspecting, the roller bearing sleeve has lost some chrome plating on it, I'm sure this is what is causing the roughness. Do I then need to change out the AR bearing at the same time? Afraid I might have to replace the whole side plate. Thanks

Send Mike a PM or call him.

I'd replace the roller sleeve if there is obvious wear but the roller clutch should respond just fine to cleaning and proper lubrication. Chances are there are other factors at play as well. I'd start with a deep cleaning / inspection and go from there.
