Loop Knots

Featured Replies

What's everyone's opinion on the best/strongest/easiest to tie loop knot for aiding topwater baits in "walking"

The only one i know of is the Rapala knot...what are the thoughts on it?

I use the perfection loop knot for salt water live bait hooks, very strong knot. Tie my fresh water bass lures, including top water dog walking lures using San Diego clinch knot.

I won't use a loop knot, but choose a split ring instead.  I don't want to use a knot that encourages abrasion of the line.

I tie my loopknot with second wrap, I'm sure there is name for that knot.  I catch my snook and tarpon with that knot using a 20# or sometimes 30# leader.  I use it for bass fishing too.

Every guide I have ever been with uses the loop, that's why I started using it.
