  1. For LM skirted jigs dominated for me. I gave them a go for river SM with limited success but also probably didn't give them a great shot with everyone around me catching fish on a tube.
  2. Great job! Are you planning on hitting it as hard this year?
  3. I have used red label in 8-15# for a few years without complaints. I recently bought some 20# Blue Label leader material for toothy fish and really liked it for ice fishing leaders. Will probably start using that more in the smaller spools.
  4. After not seeing them on the website I sent a message. They are still in the demo phase but progressing. It is a hook tied with hair similar to a fly. No weight.
  5. Sounds like a great time to throw a swim jig!
  6. Lookslike a great time non the less!
  7. Check out Hollywood Hair Jigs. They have a dropshot hair option that look great.
  8. They look great! Love the stream of pink and chartreuse
  9. As we begin the transition into fall I am tempted to "up size" the crankbaits that I generally throw on the river. I generally fish the DT6 and 1.5 for reference. While not necessarily going with a KVD 8.0 square bill what are some larger crankbaits that others would suggest?
  10. Similar setup for me. I throw a lot of 3/16-1/4 jigs and spinnerbaits on a Medium casting rod with an every day reel.
  11. I will generally carry 3 of the following MH casting, M casting, M spinning, and ML spinning. Depending on line type for the casting I can get multiple presentations out of 1 rod.
  12. I might have to try this when the weather turns.
  13. LM= 1/2 oz Black Buzz bait SM= 1/4 oz Spinnerbait
  14. Get the brush jig pack and don't look back.
  15. Try nose hooking as well. Nice thing about a fluke is you can run it on the surface or subsurface pretty easy
  16. In in addition to the modifications mentioned earlier I would set the hook straight over my right shoulder. Similar to a standard jig n craw
  17. Generally when a more natural presentation is required or the vegetation isn't conducive for a spinnerbait. Calmer, clearer conditions come to mind.
  18. Check out the tube jigs by Bite Me. I've had good luck with them and they seem to have a couple different hook sizes per weight
  19. In addition to the number of baits that people have stated earlier do not dismiss a shallow swimbait or wake bait.
  20. Thanks for the information, putting an order together now. Those SM Killer's also look interesting.
  21. Braid wit leader on my spinning outfits and copolymer or fluorocarbon on casting. What benefits do you see with using fluorocarbon for spinner baits?
  22. I have found that line type affects how versatile a rod is. For example a 6'6" med mod with fluorocarbon is really good for shallow cranks but not so much with topwater. If you change to a similar strength copolymer you can fish crank baits or top water. I generally carry 2 casting and 2 spinning. I casting is for single hook baits and the other is for treble hooks. 1 spinning is for tubes and other small jigs and the other is for weightless. Generally 10-15# copolymer on the casting and 15# braid with 8-15# leader on the spinning.
  23. I saw where River Rock is having a sale. Having bought their tubes in the past I am looking to expand into their other baits. How do their paddle tails compare to a Rage Swimmer. Also, any other baits that come highly recommended.
  24. White/Off white, ghost, black, Firetiger type colors in that order.
