So I dropped $14 on this thing at my local shop the other day. Today I tie it on for the first time. Make a cast and get a handful of twitches in before I notice I can't see it anymore. It's basically sitting below the water. Mine takes on water like the titanic. Is there a fix for this? I was possibly going to seal the hole with some silicone or something similar. Pretty disappointed in this little guy for that price. I'd understand if it was in the bargain bin at Walmart.

Hmmm...I have several of those Field Mice (to me this is the best hollowed body topwater lure going) and none of mine do that. The backend will sit a little lower in the water with the nose of the lure up, but it won't go completely under. I wonder if you got a bum lure.

I got 2 of the smallest sized ones, both of mine do that as well

I think you got a dud Rippin. Reach out to LT and see if they'll send you a new one.  The ones I have do not do that.

Mine did it after a few fish they are very easy to puncture yours might have gotten poked getting put in the package....Not too much of a fan of the mouse. Frog is awesome though.

I have had similar experiences with the LT mouse. I was disappointed from the first day i used them. They cannot handle as near as the abuse a LT frog can handle. I am glad it works for some you. 

I would just contact LiveTarget. Great company to communicate with for customer service. I've had one frog from livetarget where the back end took on water, but it still caught fish for me. Also, if you trimmed it at all, that could be part of the problem.

I called and left a message. So we will see what they'll do for me. It's straight out of the package.

Edit-Got a call back. I had to email them a photo of the mouse and my info. I'll receive a free replacement in the mail.

I can understand the back end sitting lower in the water. That's were the weight is located but mine sinks to the bottom in under 30 seconds.

Yes. I put it in the sink and it's on the bottom in under 30 seconds. After speaking with them. He said it sounds like the weight wasn't completely sealed when it was made.

This has been the SAME experience I have had. Smaller size mouse, prone to sinking after 2 fish, and now basically a wasted a bait. Loved it prior to the fish but now it is going in the trash. The actual frog has stayed strong...

Find the hole and put a tiny bit of silicone sealer on it.... I've closed up many scum frogs that way.
