Well, it's pouring now, but given my work schedule, i can't miss the chance to fish in the morning. I expect the pond to be pretty muddy. will topwater still work? my black buzz maybe? or should i stick to darker craws and black spinners? maybe chartreuse/black back KVD? i have to switch my carefully thought out plan now. any suggestions are greatly appreciates

Anything with rattles or vibration. I'd go for a chartreuse black back or a firetiger over black. Chartreuse/white spinnerbait is another good choice if the wind is blowing. 

Sounds like you are pretty in line with what you should be doing. Always go with your gut first and foremost. You could also try swimming a jig, this has always worked for me in stained water especially during or after rain. Just make sure it's a dark color or has some chartreuse.

Rattles, vibration, and color selection are the key to muddy water. Go with black, yellow, chartreuse, and red baits, they are the most visible.

I have a small Cotton Cordell Super Spot i'm gonna throw. i was thinking my strike king buzz might be effect because of the noise, size, and color, just wasn't sure because i've never seen fish hit topwater when it's muddy like that.

Trust me they will still hit it! Just need the right bait and presentation

Make it fat, maket it loud, make it shiny, make it wide wobbling.

They'll hit that buzz as long as they are in the shallows or up towards the surface. If they are burring themselves down deep in the weeds, post storm, then they might not come out for the buzz. 

Red or black in muddy water is the deal.

Loud lipless crank, buzzbait, black blue rattlin jig, big black or chartreuse spinnerbait with black or gold blades. big fat shallow crank like a Norman Fat boy in chartreuse or red craw.

A really big worm in black and red(Red Shad).  When I say big I mean at least 8" preferably around 10".  Spinnerbaits with colorado blades are another good choice as well as chatterbaits.  Dark colors with bright.  Black with chartreuse, white with red, white with chartreuse.  You want the bait to have as much presence as possible.  Increase size, slow down presentation and hang on!
