Cool Reaction Strikes

Featured Replies

My first bass today was on a square bill. Cast it out, then about three ft away from me a bass comes from underneath and grabs it. Scared the crap out of me haha. Had to loosen the drag a bit real quick. The second one of the day I was stuck on a log with a jig. Tried to shake it off and bam my rod almost bends in half. Haha. Just wondering if anyone else had strikes like these.

Reaction strikes can be unbelievable sometimes, It is amazing how accurate bass can be even when striking off pure instinct....

Sometimes I try to get my lure hung up and then yank it loose. You can get some bone crushing hits that way

That's what it's all about for me, just the joy of fishing, great equipment and great story's !

Nice fish!

One of the craziest strikes Iv had in my experience was when I was pitching a jig once. I was throwing the jig into the targeted area, and not getting bit when I decided to reel up for another pitch and a bass came up out of nowhere and slammed the jig while swimming it back to me about a foot/ foot and a half from my feet. That was pretty exciting stuff.

Not a reaction strike but the fish in my avatar ate my crankbait off a rock while I was snagged and trying to pop it loose. Popped the line a couple times then went to do it again and it was moving, heck of a way to catch the second biggest fish I've ever caught in KS.
