What Age Did You Start Fishing And What Have You Learned From It?

Featured Replies

I started crappie fishing with my Dad around 3 or 4, as I grew up a family friend got me hooked on the bass fishing bug. Before I knew it, I was reading every fishing magazine I could get my hands on. Then anytime I got some cash I was buying new gear. I still have a bunch of those lures and can associate a memory with each and everyone of them. However, the biggest thing I have learned is that repeating the same thing over and over yields mediocre results, so change things up and learn new techniques.

I had a pole in my hands before I was 1 year hold, but not until last year Mid- February I fell in love with bass and will never go back..... I have learned to never give up, fish are always biting somewhere and above all PUT ALL YOUR TRUST IN GOD

Probably when I was 6 or 7.  I have learned to be thankful for every fish caught.  I could have gone home skunked.

I have no memories of not fishing.  My father started me young.  I'm 47 now, so that's probably about 45 years and going.  I'm not tired of it yet.  Still have some fish on the bucket list.  What have I learned?  I have a lot to learn. Everytime I think I have this thing figured out either the fish, weather or some other factor throws a wrench in the works and I feel like I'm starting over.  That is part of what keeps me going - figuring out what is best at that particular time.  Nobody catches them all the time.

never leave a rod with live bait on off the side of the boat... thats how you lose rods. lol
