I'm going to start a bait company.

Featured Replies

I'm going to start a bait company called "Big Nasty Bait Company". (Big Nasty is my nickname in football and baseball. ) I'm going to start off selling a chatter type bait. The blade design is going to be WAY different.( There is a place where I can press blades pretty close. ) Also, I will make skirts with rattles. . I will use Gamakatsu hooks. I will probabally sell them for $5-$6. I will make a weedless version too, for flippin' and for heavy cover to fish like a jig. I still don't know what kind of logo I will have. If any of you have any ideas on a logo, please post the logo. I think this will be really fun.

Greg, do a little research. Right now the Chatterbait is cooling off and can readily be found in Walmart. It seems that there are plenty to be had. If you intend to make a similar bait hopefully you can incorporate enough changes in it to make it different and desirable. I rods the wave and sold about 1000 of these baits within the past few months but I can honestly tell you it is quickly become a saturated market. Good luck in your endeavor.

Maybe you should consider starting out with soft plastics, then crankbaits, then maybe your own chatterbait.  I think it's going to be harder then you think.

Oh, but either way good luck with it.  I've always wanted to make my own baits but just never got around to.

good idea. are you gonna sell em on here or something? it isnt as easy as it sounds, but good luck hopefully youll be successful :)
