Savage Gear 8" Line Thru Review

Featured Replies

I bought this bait after seeing the success SpeedBead had with it, and like most of my current collection, his advice was key to my purchase from Tackle Warehouse. Id seen him have success in lakes where trout baits have historically been unsuccessful for us, so I was intrigued. I'm highly impressed by the bait, its action in the water is highly realistic, the material seems to be durable to this point, and it casts exceedingly well.

The lakes we fish are well stocked with trout, but for some reason we had struggled time and again with trout baits and getting any attention from bass. Not to say these baits don't work, there's plenty of evidence to the contrary, but it didn't seem to be working for us. Read Speed's review, he sums it up better than i can, but Ill agree with him, this bait has been fantastic right out of the box.

The only downside I have is the top hook only design, but I'm thinking with enough requests from the customers, the folks at Savage Gear will see the upside to produce a bottom hook option.

When you add in the affordable price point of the bait, there is just simply no reason not to have a few of these in the regular bait rotation.
