Savage Gear 8" Line Thru Review
I bought this bait after seeing the success SpeedBead had with it, and like most of my current collection, his advice was key to my purchase from Tackle Warehouse. Id seen him have success in lakes where trout baits have historically been unsuccessful for us, so I was intrigued. I'm highly impressed by the bait, its action in the water is highly realistic, the material seems to be durable to this point, and it casts exceedingly well. The lakes we fish are well stocked with trout, but for some reason we had struggled time and again with trout baits and getting any attention from bass. Not to say these baits don't work, there's plenty of evidence to the contrary, but it didn't seem to be working for us. Read Speed's review, he sums it up better than i can, but Ill agree with him, this bait has been fantastic right out of the box. The only downside I have is the top hook only design, but I'm thinking with enough requests from the customers, the folks at Savage Gear will see the upside to produce a bottom hook option. When you add in the affordable price point of the bait, there is just simply no reason not to have a few of these in the regular bait rotation.

Needs some advice on "Catch and Release".....
I dont mind a guy keeping fish as long as he is following the law when doing it. However when someone is breaking the law, thats when I lose it. I fish heavily at a local pond that is catch and release only, and it makes my blood pressure go up about ten points when I see someone taking fish with them. I like your idea of talking and trying to rationally explain things to the guy, but as it has already been said on here, just be careful, we all know there are some less than stable folks out there

Danger!!! Snake Bit :(
Glad to hear things worked out ok for you...On a lighter note, I have seen the effect of a water moccasin dropping out of a tree less than a foot from a buddy of mine while fishing...I have never seen him move that fast before that day or since!

LMB memory
Thats a tough sell for me. The way I think of it, plastic worms and such stil work after a good length of time on the market. I know natural baits are different and appeal to a different side of the fish, but nightcrawlers are still a reliable bait to this day. Its just hard for me to understand

What is the best spinnerbait??
Im partial to the Boyah's but I'll agree with waht's already being posted here, as long as the action is smooth in the water, they will catch fish

A whole new world
After many years of fishing with spinning reels, Ive finally made the call to move into the world of baitcasting. Im looking for suggestions on a cost efficent, smooth operating baitcasting reel. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Anyone else enjoy fishing in the rain?
Throw me in the group that likes fishing in the rain. Some of my best fishing excursions occurred in absolute downpours. The action seems to intensify greatly and for some odd reason it just gets me pumped. From a light sprinkle to rain so heavy you can barely see the water your fishing, nothing beats it! Now mind you, I fish mainly from the banks so that changes things a bit, its much easier to tolerate from shore as opposed to in a boat. Also the minute lighting or thunder enters the picture, Im out of there, Ill toe the line of sanity to stay out in the rain, but I wont compromise my safety by playing with water in an electrical storm

How many people fish with a partner that outfishes them? (every time)
Because Im a rookie compared to the guys I fish with, Im constantly getting beat, usually by a wide margin. The upside is I pay close attention and learn what I can from them based on what they're doing. So if score is kept based on knowledge and not fish landed, then I win and the joke is on them
