Rage (Products/rigs/techs/colors)?

Featured Replies

Ok gentlemen, I’ve heard so many things about Rage products being “All that!” that it’s gotten me thinking.  I’ve seen others say that they even use Rage products 99% of the time.

So below I have listed all of Rage’s products in the hopes that I can begin to understand a few things.

  1. What Rage products you use exactly?
  2. Your top 2 ways of rigging said product?
  3. Your top 2 fish producing fishing techniques/styles for said product?
  4. Your top 2 go to colors for each product that you use.

Rage craw and space monkey, both rigged with 4/0 EWG hooks and fished Texas rigged or weightless.

I like green pumkin and black/blue flake.

The only thing I have had luck with is the Rage 7" Thumper

Best colors Green Pumpkin, Junebug

I use 1/0 offset worm hooks and fish the weightless.

Throw it out let it settle to the bottom, slowly reel it back pausing every crank or so

Rage toad slow rolled weightless top water over weeds, rocks, timber, next to docks etc.

Don't get me wrong, I love rage but when it comes to price, I can save some money and catch the same fish on zoom horny toads. And I use netbait paca chunks rather than rage craws.

They are great products, but don't see it's worth the extra $$$

The only one I am impressed with beyond other comparables is the Rage Craw's action so far

I will be workin the Rage Toad this weekend to see if has any merit.. it seems to me to be a plastic buzzbait

It basically it. Don't have to worry about moss or weeds at all, and can roll way slower and have great water movement. I've had a lot of fish destroy a solid body from that just watched a buzz bait.

Love the Ragetail Toad in green pumpkin. Find it if the fish want them to sink and get bitten or retrieved right away.

I've tried the Zoom Horny Toad and only got one strike. I have no confidence in it. I've caught a ton if fish in the Ragetail Toad.

I did ok with the Ragetail Bug weightless T-Rigge the other day

I'm one of the ones that fish with Rage Tails 99% of the time, and have found that there is a bait in the lineup for every situation, and every mood of fish. If I'm fishing a jig, there's a Rage Tail Craw, Baby Craw, Lobster, or Menace on it 100% of the time. Shallow grass often calls for a Rage-Rigged Anaconda, Craw, Cut'R, or Recon. Ledges and rocky points, most of the time will get a Tx Rigged Recon or Lobster. Carolina rig ALWAYS gets a Lizard or Eeliminator. For flippin', I almost always go with the Space Monkey, Bug, Hawg, or Lobster. New punching favorite is the Bug. For spinnerbait fish, or for a search bait, I Rage Rig a Rooster, or use a Craw on a bladed swim jig. Topwater, is usually the Shad. So, I guess, to answer your question, I use them all, and all colors, however, my favorite colors across the board, are Blue Craw, Falcon Lake Craw, Watermelon Red, and Green Pumpkin/Purple Gold.

Thank you everyone for your replies, I appreciate it.  I went out earlier today and picked up some Rage Toads in Green Pumpkin Pearl Belly  as well as some Rage Craws and Menace in both Green Pumpkin and Black Blue Flake.  I'm excited to get the opportunity to get out and try all three.
