Issue With Shimano Symetre

Featured Replies

Recently I have been using my one and only spinning combo to finesse fish some deep and clear water. Once I make my cast and my finesse worm reaches the bottom, I'll start working my lure. After I do some quick twitches, I'll go to reel in some slack and the handle sticks on me. It takes much more than it should to get it to turn. It works just fine if I am reeling in my lure to make another cast but when I make pauses during my presentation, it happens every time.

Any advice/help?

If it is still under warranty, send it back for exchange. The Symetre is a great reel, but even Shimano

builds a lemon now and then. Otherwise, send it to Mike at DVT. He can tell you what needs to be done

and probably fix it for you.

It's impossible to tell without seeing it. I agree that the best route is to return it if new enough. Otherwise, send it in and I'll take care of it.
