What a shame

I saw them all day while fishing and riding my jet ski. They went to a popular island on the lake called "party island" where every one of course party's! It was so sad watching the accident happen and I myself and the other neighbors helped these folks searched along with the Game Warden and diving teams. It was devastating when they pulled the child out. I watched them retrieve the sunken boat this morning I will post a pic later. A sad day for my neighbors. It really hits home when it's in your cove and you see it happen.

A 5 month old baby on a boat, what is wrong with these people??

I don't think the child's age was the issue, the fact that he had no lifejacket on and the adults on board being too intoxicated to help him are the biggest problems. Why they took kids to an island called "party island" where they don't probably need to be anyways was a poor choice too. I'd already been on several boat rides before I was a year old and my son took his first boat ride at 6 months. Difference was my son and I had the appropriate safety gear on and had adults on board to watch after us.

I hate stories like this, 2 children who had no say in if they went or not, lost their lives due to negligence of the "adults" who were in charge of looking after them. Tears me up, especially having a son close to the same age as the baby that died.

I couldn't agree more.

I hate hearing about these kind of accidents.
