Measuring Voltage At Fish Finder Head

Featured Replies

How do I do this? It's an eagle cuda with 5 pin slots on the power cable. Unit was fine and mid day would not power up. The fuse at the battery is good so I want to be sure I have power at the head.

Do a Google search for an Eagle Cuda power plug and you will find a drawing on which pin is which.

If you have a volt meter  select DC voltage.  Connect the black lead to a solid ground.  Only one of the pins will be carrying voltage, just touch them one at a time with the red lead until you find one with around 12 volts on it.  If none of them appear to have voltage you may have a wiring issue.

Hold the plug with the flat spot down and eliminate the center one.

The positive conductor is the second one on the left side clockwise about 10:00

The negative conductor is the second one on the right side counter clockwise about 2:00

They are across from each other

Thanks!  I found a diagram on-line that some had drawn.  I hope to find time this evening to test..

Well I have 12 volts at the power head. Looks like the old cuda is a goner! I'm starting the journey to find a replacement. Nothing fancy just need band for the buck !
