New to cranking. Sometimes the bait goes light like it has lost resistance. Thoughts on what is causing this?

Try trimming up a little more. Usually helps with the steering.

quick edit. just noticed the box says u style spool. I guess I was wrong.

just got this reel from Academy. The spool doesn't have holes in it as advertised. I'm confused. Any thoughts?

Thats what I was afraid of. i have a brand new minkotta charger so it should be ok.

I unplug the charger when they are fully charged.

This fall my batteries wouldnt charge and found they were dry. Filled with water and now discover they are leaking acid from the top caps. One is also making a ticking noise. Thoughts on what I should do? Should I just replace them? Thx!

Ram now has Helix listed on their wizard. It calls for a 1.5 x 3 plate with a 1.5 ball. This looks to be the end that mounts to the unit. Ive been looking on the web and these are hard to come by. Ram's site has a ridiculous shipping charge.

They work great. Especially if u use rod socks and don't untie every day

For those of you who have the new Helix 5: 1.) I'm looking for a Ram mount. I called ram and they said I would need a 137UB. This mount has an 11" base which seemed way too big for a 7.5in. unit. Is anyone using something different? 2.) Quick disconnect. Since the unit has a Gimbal mount, will it still have a quick disconnect so that I can remove it from the boat without removing the mount? Thanks in advance!

Wayne Do you have to purchase the trollong motor DI puck or can the transducer that comes with the unit be exchanded fir it?

Will fish follow same pattern as when water temp was the same back in spring? 1st of May had same water temp as now. All the fish I caught then were on docks. Will this pattern return?

Maybe late to the party but I read where HB is releasing this new series mid December. I need a bow fishfinder. Should I wait and get one of these? Budget is 250. They will have a color downscan unit priced at this level

I need to replace my bow depth finder. I have a 96 Stratos 285. I'm a novice boater with average mechanical ability. Is this a job that is fairly easy? Any recommendations? I'm trying to decide if I should purchase the new unit somewhere where they can also install or picking one up online. Thx.

Well I have 12 volts at the power head. Looks like the old cuda is a goner! I'm starting the journey to find a replacement. Nothing fancy just need band for the buck !
