It's Always The Bait You Don't Have!

So I recently ordered some Big Bite Bait Fighting Frogs and Zoom Fat Albert Grubs to fish with. I'd read good things about them. I wasn't going to buy anything else. Then I read about Wake Baits and thought they maybe the perfect solution to a problem I have with my heavy KVD Sexy Dawg and KVD Splash, which is that even if thrown in water that has weeds a foot under the bottom they normally sink that far on splashdown and get weeds caught up on the hooks and thus don't retrieve properly. So I figured the Wake Baits would land shallower and retrieve well over the weeds. I ended up getting a Biovex Amp, Rapala Waking Minnow, and Arashi Wake Bait. I figured I was finally done buying baits for the year.

Then I needed to order a few extra things to reach the $50 limit for shipping from Tacke Warehouse and I ordered 2 Ish Phat Frogs.

I forgot to order 2 bags of Zoom Super Hogs which I had remembered reading about. They and the Zoom Fat Alberts, and Big Bite Baits Fighting Frog aren't carried by most local stores.

Now I'm on the search for Zoom Super Hogs which are hard to come buy without paying shipping. Dicks, Walmart, Cabelas, Gander Mountain, and Joes Sporting Goods do not carry them.

But that's the deal, even though I have baits I haven't even used yet there are still those new baits that I've never tried that I still want to buy.

Ahhhhh........it never ends!

lol.

Here's a site I use for killer discounts on Zoom baits. They carry Super Hogs but in only a few colors. Tons of Zoom stuff on the cheap. I ordered about $75 worth of U tales from them a month ago. Hope this helps. http://excessiveoutdoors.com/product/zoom-super-hog/

The bait I don't have will never work, if I don't use it. In other words, but and use what like. Most of it works at point or another.

the fishin bait industry dont want you to end yer purchasing either..

with the quality and effectiveness of lures going up across the board across most classes

you could probably fish very effectively with a select few lures and really cut back on $$$... if you wanted to..

I know some days I start with two lures and not throw anything else rest of the day going back between the two

I like to have a variety of lure or bait types but don't feel having 3 or 4 different brands of the same type catches me any more fish.  If I like a certain lure it isn't important to me to use 2 different manufactures of the same lure type, if they are hitting flukes a Zoom is going to work the same as a DOA.

The bait monkey gets everyone, just wait until wintertime when cabin fever sets in!!

..it gets some more than others..

last purchase I took out some hudd shads and a mattlures softgill

after that, nothin'

the hudd shad and softgill were well recommended but so far they've been outfished

so I think there are alot of quality lures out there which can do the job

we all have a ton of them already..

so stop buying and start using..

sometimes I think fishermen blame "not having the right bait" for their lack of prowess in fishing in general
