I know we got a few flyfisherman on this site, but how many fly tyers do we have? I just  started tying in the last year and I can tie a few simple patterns like a clouser minnow, woolly bugger, stonefly nymph, and a few others. Please feel free to post a few pics of work you have done, and if you experts have a few tips fer newbs like me it sure would be appreciated 8-)

Glad to have another tyer here. I've been tying for about 7-8 years... almost exclusively bass and saltwater flies.... (nothing smaller than about a size 4 or 6 hook) I don't have the dexterity in my fingers to tie the little stuff. ...lol I have good eyes but that alone doesn't cut it. ...lol

There are a few shrimp and crab patterns that can easily be adapted to craws and the baitfish patterns are great for bass. (large and small mouth!) I have some others bookmarked on the office computer, that will pertain to fresh water and trout specifically.

I will try to remember to get a box of flies out tomorrow and smap a pic or two of some of my ties.

I've been tying for bass for about 2 years know.  What I've learned is that most qaulity bass will pass up subsurface flies like clousers, wooly buggers, and decievers.  Most of the better bass came on deer hair bugs, like poppers, frogs, and mice.  I've never gotten to tie a crawfish pattern so I'm not sure on how good they work.  

Rabbit hair leech for bass!!  Got my PB for bass on fly with one, 4.5lbs.

Been tying off and on for about 10 years now.  I cant make anything fancy, I stick with basic patterns that I know work,  Scuds, san juan worms, nymphs, dry flies, wet flys, jigs, and streamers.

I had a fly in the vise last night while surfin BassResource.com. I will get a picture or two up soon. I like popping bugs & wooly buggers for bass. I also fish stripers on the fly so I also tie big clousers & decievers.

I am glad to see there are some fly fishers and tyers here. I don't feel so alone anymore(LOL). I tie simple flies, wire gill bucktail, wooly bugger and I tie bucktails on leadheads. My last fly was a bunny strip on a leadhead. I have found I tie better than I can cast, I have trouble getting distance. I have gotten some odd looks fly fishing for bluegill and largemouth.

Those are some really good lookin flies, especially that clouser and the big deer hair fly.

the chartrues and white clouse is flaired because you used the bottom of the buck tail use the upper half and it wont flair up on you

I was wonderin' why it was doin that, thanks man. Also, do you tie any jigs? because I've been havin a problem with the hair bunching up in one spot on the jig, especially with marabou, when I want it to be spread evenly all the way around the hook. Thank you again.

yes thats a an easy solution just do two or three LOOSE wraps and then sinch down and that esencially spins the hair and with marobou you have to tie it in in a four corner type way tell me if you understand that basically it

Yup I understand most of it, the only thing I don't get is how do you tie something in a four corner way?

ok first you tie the maroubou on the bottom then on both sides then on the top you understand
