You bring up a good point though, i bet if Foles was injured the league would have ruled differently as well.  Foles was sore after that game even if he didn't take that hit though, he was getting blasted all game.  I guess that happens when you have no back up O-linemen left lol

Yep, kind of the perfect example of , " no harm, no foul".

I was kind of thinking more about the response of the league and not so much the action of the officials.    Maybe, "All's well that ends well".  

I understand the rules and the ruling that was made is that it was legal.  

 

The play was over and Foles was hardly pursuing the play as he wasn't more than walking towards the play and the ball carrier was already contacted and on the way down when baker took his two steps before the hit.  And i know you mentioned you can't stop that momentum and i agree but at the same time it is pretty easy to pull up and not take another step and lower your shoulder into a guy too and lessen the impact on a dead play. Really that is a moot point because it was deemed legal.  That still doesn't change the fact that it was a complete cheap shot.

 

Showed me how strong Foles was though to take a cheap shot like that and get up and still win even though it is against one of the poorest run franchises in all professional sports.

I saw the bolded section a little bit differently than this. To me, It looks like Foles is pretty clearly pursuing the play, and only lets up once the runner is down. Even after letting up, he is still jogging toward the play, not walking. Foles sees the runner going down because he is pursuing the play and attempting to make the tackle, so he has his eyes on the runner. Baker, on the other hand, has his head turned toward Foles the entire time, lining up his block.He therefore may not have even been aware that the runner was already down when he hit Foles. The only thing that makes the hit questionable in my opinion is the timing. If it happens half a second earlier, the vast majority of non Eagles fans would be talking about what a great, hard block it was. A half second later, and it's clearly unnecessary roughness due to being a late hit. As it is, it's a play where I'm not upset it wasn't called, but wouldn't have been upset if it was called either because the timing was so close.
