I was wondering how most people get video of themselves fishing without someone videoing them? I know a lot of people use hat cameras. Is there a reasonably cheap way to get good video of your fishing while fishing from the bank or a canoe? I do most of my fishing out of a canoe. I have a couple of good waterproof cameras. One is small and doesn't zoom very much. The other one is a camcorder. Do you know if there is a way to mount a camera that I already have to a hat? Thanks for any help.

I think you'd be better off somehow mounting a tripod or monopod to your canoe and then screwing the camera to it.

 

Be sure to put it opposite the side your normally cast with.

go pro...headstrap, or get some kind of pole mount if you are in a boat, or kayak.

Go pro chest mount. Even know the camera is light on the brim of a hat it will hurt your neck after awhile. I speak from experience.

I have tried it, but I know Shimano has an action camera for 300$.

I'm thinking about getting a go pro camera and some good mounts, who knows maybe I can be the next Glenn May hahaha

I have  a Gopro and I'm happy, you can have some under water action with this camera.

Garmin is such a great company, I've never tried their cameras or expensive electronics but their GPS watches I use for running are top of the line!

Polaroid just came out with a small cube camera for video. Not sure if it is any good. It may work well for your application and save you some cash.
