Quick Game For A Few Free Jigs

Featured Replies

Don't know what bld. I'm guessing France on country...or Canada... Just Guessing.. Lol

That's a good guess, France has many places honoring WWII veterans. However, it's still anyone's game. I really didn't think it was going to difficult, especially for the veterans out there. Hint: It is in the United States and many soldiers, both young and old visit this place each day, The statue is also regarded as sacred to one branch within the Army.

This picture was taken the day I visited. I hope it helps someone with the identification. The old guys standing in front were there for a reunion, they served in the same unit as represented by the company guidon (blue flag) in Vietnam. The statue is sometimes called Iron Mike by soldiers. If no one guesses this by six a.m., I'll end your suffering and tell all. Nite.

National infantry museum, in Colombus Georgia.

I believe the statue is called 'Follow Me'.

EDIT: Rangerphil's post just appeared.

Curse you slow internet!

Way to go Rangerphil! It is the National Infantry Museum, Fort Benning/Columbus, Georgia. By chance, are you a brother infantryman? Please message me your address and I will get a Pop Max out to you. Sorry about that slow internet Ontario, had it been a little faster you would have nailed it. I actually enjoyed this, it doesn't take much to entertain me these days. If the administrator of the forum allows it, I wouldn't mind doing this again...maybe once a month.

Side note: Ft. Benning is the home and training center of the United States Infantry. It is also home to the Airborne School. I made a pilgrimage to Ft. Benning two years ago and visited the new museum for the first time. They have displays and artifacts depicting the life of an infantryman throughout our country's history. The Vietnam and Cold War displays were really nice. I was embarrassed at one point when I was overcome with memories and emotions, but soon found that I wasn't the only old fart there with tears in his eyes. I highly recommend a visit to this place to all of you, veteran or not. You may want to plan for an extra day or two, especially during the spawn...the bass fishing in Georgia is EXCELLENT! "Follow Me"

Thanks, I am not military but I have several friends who are and my family supports as much as we can. The contest was fun because I had my 15 year old son and wife researching for over a half hour trying to figure it out and in the process we got to see some awesome memorials and statues from around the world. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday evening! Thanks again!

well he may be driving, but he is going 0 mph as he said he had to subtract 24 from his speed to get actual speed, so at the speed the vehicle was going at the time of the photo i don't think he was too much of a hazard. lol...

Mitch

Yup. Mitch is right. I was sitting in a parking spot when I snapped that. I have a grimlin in the dashboard somewhere. Truck works fine but the gauges mess up once in awhile.

I'll have more games coming up in the future.
