I was thinking about getting a veritas rod probably 7' medium. Is there any noticeable difference between the regular veritas and the 2.0?

No. Just cosmetics really. Supposed to have a increased breaking strength by 22%. I dont buy it. I do like the new ratcheted reel seats though. Regardless, they are good light, sensitive rods for that price. I have a few and I really like them.

I have two Veritas, three Vendetta, and one Villain and like them all. My 6'6" M 2-PC and 6'9" MH 2-PC Veritas load up great and are very sensitive. MY 7'1" MF Villain is my favorite overall.

New versions are more in line with their rating...the mh is an actual mh

7'0" medium 2.0 is noticeably less stiff than the original. I now have 2 of the newer version. They are great rods for the money. For any money for that matter.

The micro click reel seats are the best part about the new 2.0 imo. I hate that reel seat on the old veritas that comes loose when you have a fish on!
