Just wanna say how awesome this reel is. Basically spool it casting a 4.7 gram jig using #6 yozuri. It's smooth as silk and light too. Spooling some #15 pp tomorrow to get a little extra line on it. Pointless I know but oh well.

Congrats.  I see they are on sale.  Would love one myself, but have never spent near that kind of money for a reel.  Only because I'm not financially well off.  :sad78:  Otherwise I'd have plenty of reels like that.  :teeth:

Rippin Lips, How do you like the 713? Is that the rod your using on the Px68?

Yes it is. My time with it is limited so far. Only had it out twice. I think I caught 4 smallies on it that day. So far I like it. Was a good purchase.

I got a PX Type R. I would FOR SURE get a finesse spool. I had my reel for almost 2 years and just recently got a finesse shallow spool for it. It casts super light stuff now. You can find the spools used online from time to time. Worth the investment.

I don't have a need for s shallow spool. It casts pretty light stuff as it is now. With #6 mono I have hit my knot a few times already. I had to put #15 braid on so I could get the extra capacity. Was tossing a 1/16 tungsten weight with a trick worm yesterday and was impressed with the distance.

This BFS stuff is a whole lot of fun!  Won't be long now and you'll probably have another!

Glad you like the new reel! Those reels seem great from what ive seen.

It is definitely a fun combo to use. I like the reel a lot but doubt I'll buy another. I get bored fishing super slow. This has made it a bit more fun to use light/finesse baits though. Was throwing a 3/16 Rapala jointed floating minnow yesterday. This is one reel that I noticed a pretty decent difference in casting distance by installing boca os7's.

It is just what I'd expect from a high end Daiwa. Very smooth and super light. With a recon 713 and full spool, the total weight is right at 10oz. It's a blast to use.
