I'm looking to get into drop shot rigs and am not sure what is the best products to get. What kind of weight and what size should I use? What is your guys opinions on the best hooks? What is your guys favorite worms/baits for drop shorting? And also how long should I make the hook away from the sinker?

I tie on plain old casting weights. I like 1/4-3/8 in up to 20' water. 6'6" ML or M spinning rod with braid and flouro leader. Any 4-5" straight tail finesse bait. Hook about 18" up

I like the pencil style finesse weights. Lightest I use is 1/4 for up to 15-20' and up to 2.5oz for deep water in heavy waves. I make them myself.

For hooks, I prefer Owner Mosquitos. Had issues with the Gammie DS hooks breaking.

Favorite worms are Crosstail Shads, Shad shape worms, Roboworm Sculpins and some custom pours my friend makes.

I usually start with my hook 18-24" from the weight but have fished as much as 4' and down to as little as 6". You gotta let the fish tell you what they want.

I have a variety of ML rods I use. My favorite is a 6'9" ML/XF St Croix/2500 Stradic Mg. It is spooled with 10/2 Powerpro and a 18' leader of 6# PLine Halo. The long leader allows for multiple reties and breakoffs without the need to tie a new leader. Also, the connecting knot is on the reel when fish get close to the boat.

Gamagatsu or owner drop shot hooks, a tungsten pencil style weight and chompers drop shot worms are pretty much all I throw. I don't think you can beat a chompers drop shot worm

All are awesome suggestions, but it is really tailored to where you are fishing. Sometimes you want to stay out of the weeds, so scoot the hook higher. Weights also are tailored to where you fish and bait. BUT these are good starting points... For bait its opinion (And where you fish) but roboworm straight tail worms work almost everywhere. Good luck, drop shotting is awesome. 

I use 1/0 VMC spin shot hooks because it makes attaching a leader very easy. I use VMC pencil weights in 3/16 and 1/4oz weights. I use the 3/16 the majority of the time. As for baits I use 4" and 6" roboworms. If you really want to get into drop shotting I highly recommend watching all the Aaron Martens vids. His vids are great and he tells you everything you need to know.
