For a jigs with good hooks and good skirts how much does it cost to make each one? (including paint, bristles, eyes, and lead. Not inlcuding the mold or melting pot)

Can you melt lead on the stove top? What other suplies will I need besides the ones I mentioned?

Somewhere between $0.75 -1.50 depending on the components? Buying in bulk helps keep the costs down too.

I wouldn't melt lead in the house or on the stove because of the fumes.

You can do it cheap and get just what you want. But you have to first buy a pot cheapest lee pot is 45.00 then you have to buy a mold 35.00. You have to buy or find a supplier for good lead. after you off set these prices it .20 for a hook and .40 for a skirt 5.00 for a color of powder-coat, and a heating element for the paint. I use a heat gun thats another 30.00

You can use a alcohol burner (I would rather not abuse it), a camping stove and a pan to melt the lead a ladle to scoop it out and buy used mold of ebay etc, all of which would make it cheaper, but harder and slower to work with.

Check around I know when I started i got a kit that had the mold, melting pot, hooks, and weed guards included in the kit.  I think it may have cost about $40.  You will still need paint and skirt materials.  Starting out you wont need the powder paints and all that.  I use testors model paint then coat the baits with epoxy.  Read that as very cheap and easy.
