Does anyone know of a kayak under 100 that won't sink when launched?

No, but we have some guys on the Forum that sell and fish out of kayaks and I am sure they can give you some great input.

 

No one I know who fishes out of a kayak has ever told me that their kayaks sink when launched.

 

What do you think is wrong?

If you're looking to purchase, about the best you can hope for on that small a budget would be an old aluminum canoe or jon. Even then you'll likely have some refurb work to do at some point.

I've never tried a float tube, but I've seriously considered it.  Maybe not in Nov/Dec/Jan, but I imagine that even with your budget you could get to some great water that few others would get to.....once it warms up

$100 is going to be very tough. You need to get lucky in Craigslist.

I would say save a little longer and get something that will last a while and be more pleasurable to fish out of.  anything you find in that price range will most likely be a wally world special and will be a bear to fish out of....
