Okay, so after 2 months of debating, I pulled the trigger and put my deposits and entries down for the Western Regional FLW Rayovac Tournament curcuit as a non-boater/co angler.  So here is my question, I am familiar with the Delta, Clear Lake, but haven't really fished Havasu.  Anyone have any suggestions what the fish or what kind of fishing situation I am in for come the begining of Febuary?  Due to work schedule, well this one I am truely going to be fishing in the blind but I think I can handle it as long as I have some sort of clue as to what to expect.

Worse case as said before, hey I'll get a 2 day guided fishing trip. Couldn't be any harder then trying to find fish offshore when I ran sportboats for a living.  I don't have the pressure of running the boat, just catching the fish.  But thanks.

I know nothing about co-angler competitions, but am slightly surprised that you would practice for an event. As you have no control over your tournament I'm intrigued to know why or what you would practice? Genuine question.

Co-Angler A-Jay, non boater.  I know I'll fish 2 of the 3 days for sure.  Hence worse case, I get 2 days of fishing from the back of a boat.  

If I practiced it would be to get a feel for the water and what baits to use as well as an idea of what may be going on as to which rods and techiques I would be geared up to fish.

I used to practice as a co-angler and more than once found the pattern/area that my boater and I ended up fishing. I don't want to fish the same baits as my boater does so it helps for me to go out and try to figure out what they're eating as well so I have an idea what is working before we hit the water. If my boater has a better pattern than what I found, lucky me

OK, that makes sense. I thought you weren't supposed to have any input into where the boater went and all that side of it was down to the boater.

Depends on the boater you get. I've had some that worked just as hard to put me on fish as they did for themselves. Then I've had the ones that told me if it was up to them I wouldn't be getting much chance to fish. The good ones far outnumber the bad ones, but the bad ones are the ones you remember the longest.
