Wright & Mcgill Skeet Rees Crankbait Rod

Featured Replies

Anyone have one? Thoughts? What did you pair it with? Thanks in advance.

I had a 7' MH with an E5 Curado. It was a decent cranking rod but not my favorite.

I found them to be kind of heavy. For the same money or less the Veritas Winch cranking rods are much much lighter. The BPS cranking sticks are no slouch for the money either.

I had two and sold them after i got a good deal on some better rods. The 6'6" short mag crank rod was a great rod for target casting squarebills and lipless and was actually a lot better rod than i expected. The 7'10" rod was extremely tip heavy and didnt balance with any reel i tried. It handled any deep crank i threw, even a 10xd, but it was so heavy i couldnt enjoy using it

Thanks man. What did you pair the 6'6 with?

Dumb question...if I purchase this Rod, I shouls get a casting reel right? If so, can someone recommend a size?

I have the 7' and I have a quantum kinetic pt on it. I dont care about balance its a tip down presentation this rod is very nice for the niche that it fits into... It does a great job of keeping constant mild pressure on fish which is key when fishing crankbaits...

Thanks man. What did you pair the 6'6 with?

I tried a few reels on it. It balanced pretty well with any 7+ oz casting reel. I had a citica g on it the most, but the $100 dollar lews speed spool felt pretty good too

The Skeet 7'0 crank bait rod is FREE today at Dicks with the purchase of the

Wright & McGill Skeet Reese Pro Carbon Baitcasting Reel - 6:4:1

Go for it?

New to casting. Sorry to sound like an amateur.

I have the 7' MH/MF paired with a Lew's SS 5:4:1 and it fishes nicely.
