Titanium Spinnerbaits

Featured Replies

Does anyone know where I can buy the blank Spinnerbait head with titanium wire. I want to add my own blades, beads, skirts, etc.? I checked Netcraft and Lurecraft, but cannot find any. Need 1/2-3/4oz.

You may want to check out Cabela's I think they had some of the blanks in their Bargain cave section of their website. Good luck.

Terminator holds a patent or something on this, so nobody makes them, nobody offers the frames, etc, and bending Ti requires heat to make it stay, so the home guy doesn't have the ability to do it. Frames like this used to be available at one time, but they too, have disappeared.

I've recently seen a Strike King blade that boasted Ti wire, but it mentioned it being tapered, this might be a way to go around this for a large company such as them, but once again, fairly impossible for the small time guy. If you notice, nobody sells these frames but them. Patents and such have a time limit, so it'll come back around some day, I suppose, but be sure that at $7/pop Terminator is working on the next big thing to make everyone want that ;)

Another problem with the Titanium is its durability. This is why you won't see too many manufactures making these. Titanium wire becomes brittle in cold water and breaks. A lot of northern anglers were upset to have there $8 spinnerbaits break in the early spring and late fall.

One of the companies mentioned use to sell them but stopped because of the patent. I have some chart/white, 3/8oz guppyheads that are Ti but not the same wire as terminator uses? The ones I have the wire seems more flimsy and does not snap back but it sure is flexable. I picked up about 12 of these off ebay for $3 each but I like the super stainless for pouring my own heads.
