Bass Fishing Cuba

With the recent start of renewal of relationships with Cuba. We could see tourism expand and bass fishing trips to Cuba in a couple years. For years been hearing tales of giant bass there.

Yea, thanks, but no thanks.. I would be much happier and enjoy myself better I believe if I were to go to Mexico, but for me, Florida is plenty good enough...

That darn spanish teacher not teaching me any french... Curious why is it in French ?

Its a French website that offers flyfishing trips to Cuba.

A buddy of mine recently showed a pic of a couple of his family members fishing in a river out  by country side in Cuba. They had some beautiful bass on that stringer. They live with a different set of rules down there, so you know where those bass were headed.

I did a day trip for some largemouth in Cuba about 12 years ago.  The "guide" wasnt so in tune with the fish I dont think, but we made some adjustments and caught a good number of fish.  Most were 1 - 2.5 lbs.  My old man lost one in the 6 - 7 pound range.  It was a cool experience, flipping flooded mangroves that we certainly dont have in Canada.  I have a lot of areas much higher on my list that I would rather visit.

I am looking towards the day I can go to Cuba to bass fish!I have read that several fishermen have caught +20 pound bass here.One of my fishing buddies told me his biggest down there was +17lbs and he has seen bigger ones caught in person.Jimmy Houston's  personal best bass came from Cuba too.
