Wright And Migil Skeet S-Glass Casting Rod?

Featured Replies

How would this rod do for an all around cranking rod?

Great... They are decent rods for the price.

I have a pitchin stick and a worm/ spinner Rod

Both are nice

The worm spinner had an eyelet epoxied over I had to drill out but other than that good

I wouldn't necessarily buy one I can't inspect

Seems lacking in the QC

I had one for about 1 season that I used for squarebills and medium depth cranks. I didn't like it and ended up selling it, just felt really dead to me.

I sold mine because it felt dead in my hands, but it wasn't a cranking rod.  I guess it would be fine for cranking though I just don't like yellow rods.

I like S Glass rods because they have an action intermediate between E Glass and graphite, and the weight is considerably less than E Glass, which always seems too darned tip heavy to me.  I can't speak to the Wright and McGill rod but I have an S Glass custom built on a Seeker BS704 blank that is light and fairly sensitive - though not as sensitive as graphite.
