Shakey Head Jig Hook

Featured Replies

I just got my first jig mold in.  It is  the Do - It shakey head mold 473430.  It says on  the 3/16 and 1/4 oz slots hook size 4/0.  Can I use a 3/0 hook in those slots?  Will the jig turn out okay?  Also are the Gamakatsu 60' (614) that much better than the Mustad 32798BLN?  Are the Mustad hooks just as sharp and thin as the Gamakatsu?  Thanks for replies

The mold is the shake it jig mold model number SRH-6-A and stock number 473430.

I always use Mustads instead of Gammys. I think Gammy's are sharper, but Mustads are really really close and usually a lot cheaper. Plus, Mustads dont roll the point as easy as a gamakatsu. I dont know for sure, but I would think the 3/0 is going to be ok.

You can use one or 2 sizes up or down in hooks in Do-It molds. I pour on both Gamakatsu and Mustad hooks but for personal use I like the Mustads. They are cheaper and I have never had a problem with one.
