Congratulate Me!

I made it in and out of Bass Pro Shops today without spending a cent!!! :respect-059:

It took considerable self control.

I had a lot of fun comparing weights of rods. I've already looked at all the lures, but I was pretty fascinated by the rods. For instance, the G. Loomis GL2 rods actually felt chunky compared to the lightest bass rods there, the Carbonlite and the Diawa Lexa. The Duckett Ghost was a close third. And here I thought that the G. Loomis' were the lightest rods on the market.....

Had a blast.

Lets get this straight.

You got up; got dressed; got in the car; drove to BPS; got out of the car; walked across the parking lot; entered the store; walked around; played with the rods; checked all the baits; and you did not buy anything?

The Bait Monkey is greatly disappointed.

You have to start doing better than that.

Wow!

Congrats!

Well I have a guy in my church who's giving me baits at 1/3 the price, so I really couldn't justify getting anything new.

I'm having to pay for college in a few years, so any (*ahem* most) extra money I have gets tucked away.

You may want to schedule an appointment with a psychoanalyst...Just to be safe, of course.

Smart man, keep at it!

It's a rare occasion when I make it out of a BPS without buying anything...Just when you think you've escaped, you run into the beef jerky displays guarding the exits! :)

I'm watching you ~

My guess is that if you left without spending a cent, you are either a shoplifter or were escorted out...:)

I didn't go with the intention of buying, I went with the intention of looking/feeling. If I were to buy something, I'd snag some online sales and head to TW, which I way prefer over Bass Pro. Besides, it's not like I didn't want to, I just told myself I didn't need more. And, what I did today also helped make decisions for future online orders. So don't judge, folks :). Believe me, I have the bait money syndrome too.

There's that "need" word again! You NEED to WANT more of the bait monkey!!

There's no room for quiters here.  You need to go back tomorrow and buy something.  We don't window shop baits, we buy uncontrolably and regret later causing us to Cup of Noodles because we spent the grocery money.  Please update us on your bait purchases made from your return trip tomorrow.

My Dad did get some of those for us, now that you mention it.......

Oh Ok, so you were escorted out.  Stripping off all your clothes and rolling around nekkid in the bargain bait bin will lead to that...

Congratulations!

I wish my wife had that kind of discipline when she goes shopping....

Nope, they don't have most expensive rods out and I didn't check to see if they had it somewhere behind the shelf.

Plus it is difficult to hold a rod while handcuffed & being perp-walked out of the store...

I've done that before. I don't call it self-control; I call it being broke.
