Is a #1 treble to large for the belly of a 68?

There really is no need for a treble on a hud68. 

I made the mistake of putting a belly hook on one of mine. I got to make about 10 cast with it before that belly treble snagged up on a log and I lost it. One of the only 2 swimbaits I've lost since I started fishing them a few years ago. I have yet to catch a fish on a 6" Hudd of any variation that a stinger hook was needed. They always end up looking like this;
