yea fogured thats what it was. didnt see any prices tho. all the salesmen were busy so i didnt get to ask how much

The new Carbonlite baitcaster looks pretty sweet too. I'm thinking about picking one up.

Yeah I"m thinking about getting one or two.  However if the old one goes on clearance for a great price....the new one can wait.  :love-158:

Do you think the old ones will be on clearance for the Spring Classic? Hootie could know the answer...

Those Carbonlite rods are really incredibly lite. I was amazing picking one up for the first time.

yea im thinkn they will be. they were all just piled up in this square rack. but yea those new ones just float in your hand

This review is enough to make me buy one:

Advantages: just like a beautiful woman...beautiful to look at and a pleasue to hold
Disadvantages: you've got to be kidding me!

My favorite BPS rod for the buck, got my brother 3 of them!

The new white carboblite reels are great! Ill vouch for it. Smooth caster, easy to control, light as a feather. I have mine on a veritas 7'm/f and its a thing of beauty. I wish I had 10 more.

Any comparison between the black and white models?

I've not gotten hands-on with the whites yet. Want to

be armed when I go in to the store, LOL.

So a ML 6'6" comparison

a M 6'6" comparison, etc. among spinning and casting.

If nobody's got a comparison, I'll try in the next week or

two...or three.

The only thing the old carbonlite and the new one share is the name.  The new Carbonlites felt a little more stif in the tip section than the older models, sort of inbetween the old ones and a Veritas, but I might be imagining things.  Only got my hands on one once.

Ok. Thanks, Torque. So would you say the lightness is about the same?

I might be able to swing by on Wednesday.  I'll test them out but in store testing can only go so far.  I'll let you know if they feel lighter or not.

Cool. Thanks. Look forward to the comparison.

Hoping to get to BPS this week, but not sure I

will be able to.

Night and day difference.  The new one's more reminicent of a St Coix Legend Xtreme in terms of weight and balance than a BPS rod.  These rods must have tissue paper thin blank walls to be as light as they are, which concerns me a little.

It concerns me as well. Gonna wait for quite a few reviews before I go out and get one.

I can see the concern, but technology has moved forward and I can't see why you should be too concerned.  Plus I hear BPS stands behind their products as seen in many reviews/posts.  I'll probably take the plunge on the new one, especially if what you are saying is true (lightness).  However, if the old Carbonlite has a really good clearance price...I'd buy those instead.

I had the new Carbonlite rod in one hand and a Duckett Ghost in the other.  I went with the Ghost for $30 cheaper.  It felt more balanced and maybe even lighter.  The Carbonlite is a very nice rod just not worth $30 more to me.

The new Carbonlites are freaky light.  If you're not a fan of the white blanks then take a look at the Browning Superlights.  It's the same blank as far as I can tell.

I'm pretty sure most of the Browning and BPS stuff come from the same factory and have similar insides/specs.

Carbonlites, starting at $89.97. Don't know if that has anything to do with the old ones.

Actually the whole 34 page flyer is viewable on their website now.
